Accelerator Y Food Drive

Still have some spring cleaning to do? Let us help you in your endeavors!  Clean out your pantry and donate food and small toiletry items to help homeless youth transitioning out of foster care in the greater Seattle area.

The Accelerator Y is a branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, focused on serving vulnerable young people who are coming out of foster care, often straight to the streets of Seattle, without a place to stay.  They are the largest provider of housing for homeless young adults in the county, where on any given night, they can provide up to 280 beds. In addition to providing young people with a safe place to stay, they also offer education and employment services, family support, violence prevention, and behavioral health guidance opportunities.

We accept food items ranging from small single-sized snacks including granola bars and dried food to larger items such as canned goods (chili, vegetables, soups) and boxed potatoes or pastas. All donated items will be used at transitional homes around the area along with the Accelerator YMCA Center.

Please help the Accelerator Y continue to serve countless individuals and donate today! The drive will take place through June 15th. A more detailed list of desired items is provided below.
