A more meaningful EGGSTRAVAGANZA

The Sammamish Community Y has partnered with the Rotary Club of Sammamish to create an even more meaningful EGGSTRAVAGANZA this year.

The egg hunts are the highlight of the day, so what better way to infuse philanthropy into the community than via the eggs themselves! While many eggs in the hunt will have candy or toys, a portion of all the eggs will have “Donation Tokens.” Egg hunt participants can put their tokens (which translate into donations) towards one of the three local non-profits: Hopelink, Eastside Baby Corner and the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank. The tokens look similar to the above image.

“The Rotary Club was generous enough to donate some initial funds so that the charities will receive a cash amount based on how many tokens are put towards their organization, and all three organizations will leave with something,” says Kai Schwartz, director of leadership development for the Sammamish Community YMCA.

“Our goals is to incorporating philanthropy into the event was to both foster a philanthropic habit in our youngest community members and to help the community learn more about the great work our local non-profits are doing,” says Trisha Prewitt, assistant director of family programs at the Sammamish Community YMCA.

Don’t miss out on the philanthropic fun – EGGSTRAVAGANZA takes place this year on Saturday, March 31 in the Sammamish Commons from 10 a.m. to noon. We look forward to seeing you there!
